Get away from all the stress of your life and unwind at a spa in Florence Kentucky that will take you away to state of ‘sweet serenity’….

Want to get away from all your daily stress and have a salt therapy treatment or massage? Or maybe relax in an infared sauna? Sweet Serenity Spa is the place for you then! But more than just a typical ‘spa’, this unique facility which has just celebrated its fifth year in business, is the exact place where you can find ‘treatment’ to alleviate weak immune system issues or autoimmune problems.

‘COME GET SALTED’…

The owner’s grandson, Lucas, had a breathing problem from an early age and grandma Fran had an idea: Salt therapy! After exposing him to salt therapy, he started breathing better and with continued use of the salt room, he was practically cured!

This ‘salt room’ is quite rare as there are not many spas in the tri-state area that offer an actual salt room, so this unique service is becoming very popular and is drawing more and more people as time goes on. Says the owner, Fran Hasekoester, “We see more and more people telling others about our salt room and the word of mouth alone is making our appointment book on this get full each week!”

The salts are Himmalayan and come from Pakistan so the salt is rich in minerals and is very healthy for those who need it. It works on inflammation and helping the body’s muscles to relax and the body’s bones to be stronger.

You enter the salt room without shoes so as to not spread germs from off the street – and you are given a pair of footies that each individual wears per their visit. You lay down or sit and read if you like – in a lawn chair and just relax as a box of very faint salt breezes through the air above you.

The spa belongs to the Salt Therapy Association that also keeps them up to the recent policies and standards, ,which also builds the customer’s confidence in what they do with this new and exciting new practice.

“Sweet” is defined as pleasing, fresh, and gracious, and “Serenity” is defined as serene, tranquil, and calm. Our name shows the focus and direction of our facility. By offering salt therapy and therapeutic massage, we take a holistic approach to good health and wellness. Salt therapy provides our clients with a drug-free alternative – for better respiratory/skin health.

While salt therapy, is not meant to be a replacement for medical treatment, the salt room’s peaceful setting encourages healing tranquility. With the use of precise therapeutic massage techniques, our educated therapists: clear the body and mind of unwanted stress, improve circulation and promote relaxation. With every massage uniquely tailored to meet the needs of each client. Our goal is to make each client feels rejuvenated, renewed, and refreshed.

The spa also just started offering reflexology and there are numerous talented massage therapists to choose from – just name your favored type of massage and they can accommodate you: standard deep tissue, hot stone massage, lymphatic massage, and much more. See their website below for more details.

Fran Hasekoester – LMT and owner of the spa, received her training from the Cincinnati School of Medical Massage and has been a massage therapist for 16 years. She is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association and is licensed in both Kentucky and Ohio.  Fran is certified by the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation as a BWC provider. Along the way, she has acquired additional training in Precision Neuromuscular Techniques, Prenatal Massage, Cold Stone Therapy for Migraines, and Craniosacral Therapy.

**Fran is also certified to teach “Baby’s First Massage”.  This program teaches new parents basic massage techniques that will help improve the parent-child bonding that is so important in the early stages of life.  In addition to this, for fun and relaxation, she likes to treat her clients to salt body scrubs, hot salt stones, facial toning massage and now introducing a body contouring technique called lypossage.

The owner also shares with us how the best way to introduce yourself to the spa is by experiencing the suanna room first. “We suggest our clients use the sauna room first before they do massage therapy. This is because it helps to warm up the muscles and prepare you better for your massage.”

She wraps it all up by saying, “We can tailor the client’s needs prior to the massage.”

Seems fitting in many ways – the title of the spa and the way the title works so we can turn down our cortisol levels right now: A spa with all the healthiest pampering services and with a client’s needs placed first – yes, this is ‘sweet’!
